building a culture of trust
Building trust is a critical component of creating and leading a learning organization and being an effective cultural change agent. Megan Tschannen-Moran, author of Becoming a Trustworthy Leader (2013), focuses on the importance of the trusting relationships school leaders develop with stakeholders within the school system to build a culture of trust that promotes effective and successful learning communities. Tschannen-Moran describes how the five facets of trust are interrelated with the five functions of leadership to develop trust among the five constituencies of a school system. Tschannen-Moran describes how trustworthy leaders continually work to strike a balance among the facets and functions of leadership to foster a culture of trust within the school system and the community.

dimensions of trust for organizational change
Vukotich, a specialist in change management, has compiled work on building a culture of trust in an organization. The figure below (p. 5) represents the dimensions of trust Vukotich suggests are critical to trust in an organization. Vukotich’s dimensions of trust can be used in knowledge management to determine the validity of resources and enhance trust within an organization.
